Yérime Sylla will quit as national coach of the Red Wolves. The Frenchman is accepting an attractive and ambitious plan from another country. Yérime Sylla began his third term as national coach of the Belgian men’s handball team in October 2021. His biggest success is the Red Wolves’ first-ever qualification for a major tournament. In January 2023, the Belgians participated in the World Handball Championship.

SINT-TRUIDEN & VISE WIN CUP FINALS
Women’s handball Sint-Truiden and men’s HC Visé won the finals of the Women’s and Men’s Belgian Cup on Saturday afternoon. Handbal Sint-Truiden defeated Hubo Handbal 28 – 26 in a hard-fought match. In a thrilling final, HC Visé BM had to chase for 50 minutes before finally winning the match and winning 30 – 34.

RED WOLVES MAY DREAM OF QUALIFICATION
A draw was held in Copenhagen on Thursday’s eve for the 2026 European Handball Championship to be hosted by Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Belgium will be in Group 5 where Croatia, the Czech Republic and Luxembourg are the opponents.
